Look What Followed Me Home…

Okay, maybe they didn’t follow me home. Maybe I bought them. Maybe. But that’s what can happen if I go to the feed-store for dog food when there’s adorable day-old chicks talking to Tice.

There are three of them, and they could not be more adorable! I can’t wait to share more about them as they grow.

What a fun way to celebrate Easter–new life!

They would have jumped in my car as well.

Ha! We got a blue chick one Easter… named it Bluebonnet and kept it in a bird cage. Turned out to be a rooster, and he grew so fast we almost killed him trying to get him through the door! Coulda won the Funniest Home Video contest when we turned him loose in the back yard, then Daphne tried a broken-field tackle with a laundry basket!

I just happened upon your blog tonight Natalie, and saw your sweet chicks. This happened to me two Springs ago, when my husband sent me to the farm store to pick him up some slobber straps for his horse’s bridles. He’ll never ask me to do that again.

Oh my goodness… just precious! We are having a coop built in the next few weeks, and I am so anxious to get the little chicks. How long do you keep them inside before you put them out in the coop? If you have any good chicken advice, I would love to hear it. :)
