And to my daddy: Happy Father’s Day! I love you so much! Thank you for always being the kind of daddy who lifted me up and stayed behind me. Your love and support mean the world to me!
One of the things that I appreciate more and more as I get older is how you always made it a priority to travel with us and take vacations. I realize that it was never as much of a vacation for you and Mom as it was for us kids. Especially since we took a lot of long road trips (sans VCR/DVD!). But the memories we made are priceless!
During the summer trips, no matter how old we were, the first thing we checked on at any hotel was the pool. We couldn’t wait to get in the water! And you were always so good about getting in with us–and throwing us in the air (all three of us!). And watching as we all vied for your attention with each little trick we learned. I’m sure it was exhausting, but you made it so much more fun.
Now, when I watch you with Katie and Dean (and soon Tice) in your pool, I see them making those same kind of memories. We are all so blessed to have you!
I love you, Daddy!
