Eight Weeks of Life

It amazes me how fast this little guy is growing! He is eight weeks old now, and he shows us more personality every day. He has so many expressions, and I know the pictures will help me remember all these precious fleeting moments. These were all taken on Monday at various times of the day.

Being a mom is everything I thought it would be and so much more. More of everything–more love, more joy, more work! When I was teaching, I always used to say that it was the hardest but most rewarding job. Now I can multiply how difficult and how rewarding that was by infinity, and that’s what motherhood feels like.

Is that not the cutest little yawn? Guess what. I’ve turned into one of those moms! I promise I still have other things to blog about, but it’s just really hard for me to not focus on him right now!

The pacifier isn’t that attractive, but he has one in his mouth pretty regularly, so I’m documenting it!

The previous three pictures were taken out on our porch. We’ve been enjoying the beautiful spring-like weather. But I’m not convinced that the cold spells are over…
This shot was an accident, but it’s still one of my favorites. It was really starting to get dark outside, but I wanted to get a picture of him in the adorable hat that our friends’ eight-year-old daughter, Rylie, knitted for him. He started to slide down right as I was taking the picture, so it’s not perfectly sharp. He became fussy after that, so I never got a second chance. But that’s okay–it was just a candid moment!

One thing I have learned from my dad is to take advantage of each day and to spend time with those you love who are right at your fingertips! You are definitely going to see a lot more of my face because I can’t imagine not being a very important part of Tice’s life! I love him so much already! I love you too! You are always going to be an important part of my life!

Wow! He looks exactly like Harper. So happy for you….. I am also happy that you’re not afraid to be ‘that mom’. Of course his yawn is the cutest. You are totally correct! Enjoy this special time.
